Chinese New Year also called the Spring Festival a celebration of the beginning of the Chinese Calendar for the year. It is often referred to as “Lunar New Year” because other countries celebrate it as well. Common traditions include parades, lanterns, costume, certain foods like tangerines and oranges, and various street celebrations.
